Ein Computer im Büro und einer im Home-Office, ein Smartphone für Berufliches und eins für Privates, dazu noch Tablet(s) und Laptop(s) – da kommen schnell einige Geräte pro Office 365 Nutzer zusammen. Wie viele Benutzer pro Abonnement zulässig sind und auf wie vielen Geräten Sie Ihr Office 365 genau installieren können, erfahren Sie hier.

Was ist das Problem?

Microsoft bietet sein Office 365 in verschiedenen Lizenzen und modularen Paketen an (genannt „Pläne“), z.B. für den Privatgebrauch, für das Bildungswesen und öffentliche Einrichtungen sowie für kleine und große Unternehmen. Abhängig von der jeweiligen Lizenz-Version kann Office 365 dann auch von einer unterschiedlichen Anzahl an Benutzern und auf unterschiedlich vielen Geräten installiert werden. Dabei hat Microsoft die zulässige Anzahl an möglichen Geräten und Benutzern für die Home- und Personal-Editionen Ende 2018 angehoben. Was der aktuelle Stand der Dinge ist, erfahren Sie hier.

Office 365 gibt es in verschiedenen modularen Paketen für unterschiedliche Zielgruppen und mit jeweils eigenen Tarifen:

Für die private Nutzung (Home und Personal)
Für kleinere Unternehmen (die verschiedenen Business-Pläne)
Für größere Unternehmen (die verschiedenen Enterprise-Pläne)
Sowie eigene Lizenzen für Bildungseinrichtungen, Lehrer, Studenten, Behörden und gemeinnützige Organisationen.

1. Auf wie vielen Geräten kann Office 365 Home und Personal installiert werden?

Microsoft hat seine bisherige Beschränkung für Benutzer und installierte Geräte pro Office 365 Home- und Personal-Abonnement zum Stichtag 02.10.2018 revidiert und in Teilen sogar aufgehoben.

Die Nutzer von Office 365 Personal durften ihr Office bislang lediglich auf einem PC oder Mac und einem mobilen Gerät (Tablet oder Smartphone) installieren.
In der Office 365 Home-Version durften bislang bis zu fünf Benutzer insgesamt bis zu zehn verschiedene Geräte installieren.
Seit dem 2. Oktober 2018 dürfen beide Office-365-Abonnements auf beliebig vielen Geräten installiert werden, fünf davon können gleichzeitig angemeldet sein. Bei Office 365 Personal darf aber nach wie vor nur ein einziger Benutzer (gleichzeitig) angemeldet sein, auch wenn dieser Office nun auf beliebig vielen Geräten installieren darf.
Die Anzahl der zulässigen Benutzer für Office 365 Home hat sich zudem von fünf auf sechs erhöht. Jedem Benutzer stehen dabei nach wie vor eine eigene Lizenz und 1 TB an Speicherplatz in der OneDrive-Cloud zur Verfügung.

2. Auf wie vielen Geräten kann Office 365 Business und Enterprise installiert werden?

Die Anzahl der zulässigen Benutzer und installierten Geräte hat sich bei den Office 365 Business- und Enterprise-Abonnements nicht geändert. Hier gelten die bisherigen Limits und Regeln.

Office 365 Business-Pläne: Jeder Nutzer von Office 365 Business und Business Premium kann Office auf bis zu 15 Geräten installieren (auf fünf PCs oder Macs, auf fünf Tablets und fünf Smartphones). Die Anzahl der Lizenzen/Benutzer ist bei den Business und Business Premium jedoch auf maximal 300 beschränkt.
Office 365 Enterprise-Pläne: Die Enterprise-Lizenzen sind für größere Unternehmen mit über 300 Mitarbeitern konzipiert. Hier können beliebig viele Benutzer registriert werden. Auch hier kann jeder Benutzer, wie bei den Business-Plänen, Office 365 auf bis zu 15 Geräten installieren.

Wie viele Benutzer und Geräte Sie bei Office 365 hinzufügen bzw. installieren können, hängt von der jeweiligen Lizenz-Version ab.

The following article provides information on how to install Microsoft Office 365 on your Dell PCs.

NOTE: Beginning December 16, 2016, if you purchased your Microsoft Office product with your Dell system, we will no longer ship an Office product key card to activate your product. Systems sold after this date are Digitial Delivery systems with the software loaded onto your system ready for activation via the instructions our article How to Find and Activate Microsoft Office 2016 or 365 on your new Dell system.

Installing Microsoft Office 365 on your Dell PC (pre Dec 2016 systems)

This is a step by step guide taking you through installing Microsoft Office 365 on your system. It lists the system requirements to run the program. How to locate the install media and how to use it once you have it. Office 365 is the latest office business suite and is designed as new subscription service integrating online content.

You can purchase Office 365 if it didn't come with your system.

There are also some notes and hints about known issues and there are some suggestions about how best to go about the install itself.

As always if you have any problems at the end of this guide you can contact your local technical support or our Twitter team for further help, but in this case I would recommend you contact your local Microsoft helpline instead.

If it's a authentication issue, Microsoft are the only people who can check and affect this. Dell can't supply new product Id's for ones that have been lost and we don't have the access or authority to authenticate your office install.
If it is a particular installation error code, Microsoft are the people who will have the best idea of what it means and how to resolve it.
If you are having licensing errors or have questions about it, again Microsoft will be the only people who can check and go over this with you. Dell doesn't have access to license lists or to how many machines are reporting that particular serial or license at the one time. We can't check how many times that license has been used or on what systems.

Hardware and Software Requirements

Microsoft Office 365 will install on the following minimum hardware requirements :

1 GHz or faster processor with SSE2 instruction set.
1 GB or more of RAM memory for 32 bit, 2 GB or more of RAM memory for 64 bit.
3 GB or larger available hard disk space.
1024x576 display resolution with Directx10.
Windows Server 20012 32/64-bit, Windows Server 2008 32/64-bit, Windows 7 32/64-bit, Windows 8 32/64-bit.
Internet Explorer 8, 9 or 10, Mozilla Firefox 10.X or later, Apply safari 5 or Google chrome 17.x or later.
3.4, 4.0 or 4.5 .NET installed.
A touch-enabled device is required to use any multi-touch functionality. But, all features and functionality are always available by using a keyboard, mouse, or other standard or accessible input device.

Note: New touch features are optimized for use with Windows 8.

What are you installing from?

All installs are done from a download if you have a product ID.

There will be no backup DVD media.

There is no MSI installer for Office 365.

Instead you will be using the new click to run installer service.

Whether you are installing for the first time or are installing to multiple systems, you will be using a download and click to run installer service from the Microsoft site. There is no download to save the program as backup media, everything will be dealt with online instead. If you're wanting to use the system offline, then Office 365 probably isn't the program you should be looking at.

Note: Click-to-Run is a Microsoft streaming and virtualization technology that reduces the time that is required to install Office and helps you run multiple versions of Office on the same computer. The streaming technology enables you to download and begin to use an Office product before the whole product is installed on your computer. The virtualization technology provides an isolated environment for Office to run on your computer. This isolated environment allows you to run the latest version of Office side-by-side with an earlier version of Office that is already installed on your computer.

Confirm your PC meets the Office 365 system requirements.
Check to see if your PC is preloaded with Office 365.

Click the Windows Start menu and then click All Programs. If you see Office 365, Office is preloaded.
1. If your PC is preloaded with Office 365. Click the Windows Start Menu and then click Office 365. On the startup screen, log into your Microsoft account and when prompted, enter your 25-character Product Key.
2. If your PC is NOT preloaded with Office 365 or you have reinstalled your PC from disc and not from an image. Go to the page below and enter your product ID and you can download the software again.

When you use the latest version of Office with Office 365, you can edit and review Office files from virtually anywhere you can use your computer, mobile device, or web browser.

Here’s what Office includes :

To install Office when you sign in to Office 365 for the first time

If you’re an admin, go to Admin > Settings > Office 365 Settings > Software.

On the Office page, select a Language, and then click Install.
You can install this version of Office on up to five computers. After you’ve completed the installation, make sure you have automatic updates turned on.

Note: You can also use Office 365 with the version of Office you already have on your PC.

Deactivate an installation on a PC

If you’ve already installed the latest version of Office with Office 365 on five computers and you want to install Office on a sixth computer, you would have to deactivate an installation on one of your current computers and then activate the new one.
Go to Software > Office. Click Deactivate next to the computer you want to deactivate the installation from.
