Saturday USFL game TV channel, live streamHere's how to watch the season-opening game on Saturday. Generals at Stallions
Expect to see the Generals turn to a run-heavy attack out of the gate. After quarterback Ben Holmes was hurt and replaced by Luis Perez, it is likely that running back Mike Weber, a standout for Ohio State from 2016 to 2018, will be a major presence in the offense. He finished his collegiate career with 2,676 rushing yards on 455 carries with 24 touchdowns before being drafted by the Cowboys in 2019. The Stallions, on the other hand, are likely to be coming out of the gate airing it out. They're led by quarterback Alex McGough, who threw for 65 touchdowns and 9,091 yards in four years at Florida International, and wide receiver Victor Bolden Jr., who spent two seasons in the NFL with the 49ers and Bills after recording 1,863 receiving yards and 727 rushing yards in four years with Oregon State. Sunday USFL games TV channels, live streamsHere's how to watch every USFL game that will be played on Sunday. Gamblers at PanthersThe first game on Sunday is slated to be a showdown between two former Big Ten stars under center. Clayton Thorson led Northwestern to its first Big Ten championship game in 2018, capping off a stellar career with the Wildcats in which he threw for 10,731 yards, 61 touchdowns and 45 interceptions in four years. He'll be joined in the backfield by running back Mark Thompson, who averaged 4.7 yards per carry and 11.5 yards per reception in two seasons at Florida. Starting opposite Thorson will be the first overall pick in the USFL draft, former Michigan quarterback Shea Patterson. Patterson came out of high school as the No. 4 recruit in the nation, per 247Sports Composite Rankings, and transferred to Michigan after two years at Ole Miss. In two years with the Wolverines, he passed for 5,661 yards with 55 touchdowns and only 15 interceptions. Expect former Broncos quarterback Paxton Lynch to be thrown into the mix under center as well. Stars at Breakers
The Stars have some serious defensive talent of which opposing teams are going to have to be wary. Cornerback Channing Stribling was a standout defensive back in his last two years at Michigan, intercepting six passes between the two seasons and tallying three tackles for loss. Philadelphia also boasts linebacker Jordan Moore, a former speedy safety for UTSA, where he recorded 49 tackles and defended four passes in the 2016 season. That defense will be tasked with slowing down star running back Jordan Ellis. The former Virginia Cavalier was named an All-ACC Honorable Mention in 2018 after he rushed for 1,026 yards and scored seven rushing touchdowns on 215 carries. Joining Ellis in helping quarterback Kyle Sloter lead the offense will be wide receiver Johnnie Dixon, who caught 42 passes for 669 yards and eight touchdowns in 2018, his final season with Ohio State. Bandits at Maulers
The Bandits might have the most explosive passing game in the USFL. Tampa Bay's offense will be led by former Ole Miss quarterback Jordan Ta'amu, who passed for 5,600 yards with 30 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in two years with the Rebels. His top weapon will be former Steeler Eli Rogers, who caught 48 passes for 594 yards in his rookie season with Pittsburgh in 2016. That receiving corps also boasts former Auburn quarterback-turned-wide-receiver John Franklin, who won a Super Bowl with Tampa Bay's NFL team in 2020. The Maulers have a standout quarterback of their own in former Richmond QB Kyle Lauletta. From 2015 to 2017, Lauletta passed for at least 3,000 yards each season and completed over 60 percent of his passes in every year. By the time he finished his Spiders' career, he had a school-record 10,465 career passing yards and 73 touchdowns. Lauletta went on to spend three seasons in the NFL with five different teams as a practice squad QB.
And then there were eight. The first round of the NFL playoffs has come to a close, with all the division champions winning their first-round matchups except the Cowboys to set up the divisional round of the playoffs. The next wave of NFL action starts on Saturday, with both the No. 1 seeds returning to action after receiving first-round byes. The Titans will be the first team to kick off, when they face the Bengals in a matchup that will pit the return of star running back Derrick Henry against the dynamic passing offense of Joe Burrow and Cincinnati. The primetime showdown will see Aaron Rodgers and the Packers returning to the field to face off against the 49ers in a rematch of the 2020 NFC Championship Game. Game 2
Henry is back for the first time since his Week 8 broken foot injury, and it comes at just the right time for the Titans. Tennessee hosts the Bengals in its first playoff game this season after getting the first-round bye. Despite missing Henry for more than half the season, the Titans still finished the season as the fifth-leading rushing team in the league. They will have to contend with a high powered Bengals offense that has seen Burrow and his variety of weapons, including presumptive Offensive Rookie of the Year Ja'Marr Chase, torch opposing defenses over the past several games. Rodgers and the Packers have struggled to get past the 49ers in the playoffs. Since taking over under center in Green Bay, Rodgers is 0-3 against San Francisco in the playoffs, with the last meeting having come in the 2020 NFC Championship Game that sent the 49ers to the Super Bowl. But this Packers' team is clicking on all cylinders, with Rodgers playing at an MVP level. Over Rodgers' final seven games of the season, he completed 72 percent of his passes for 1,929 yards with 20 touchdowns and no interceptions. How to watch NFL playoff gamesTitans vs. Bengals
