Debating a pair of Zenni Optical glasses? I took the plunge on ordering affordable eyewear online + I’m sharing all the details today! If you’re like me, you’ve seen ads for all sorts of online glasses companies. I’ve shared my love of ordering glasses online before, but I’ve always stuck with one company – Firmoo. They’re great, but sometimes they don’t have a wide enough selection. And of course – since online advertising is so targeted – I’ll see exactly what I want a couple days later pop up on social media. That’s exactly how I discovered Zenni Optical. Of course, I was a little bit skeptical about Zenni, because their prices are so good and exactly what I wanted. Sort of a dangerous combo, but I figured – worth it to take the chance! Since I have no chill, I ordered two pairs.  For the purposes of this post, I took selfies wearing my glasses since that is the most true-to-life example of how they will appear when you get them. Lighting in my bathroom is not great, but – you get the idea! Zenni EyeglassesLike I mentioned, I found Zenni eyewear through a social media ad targeting me for exactly what I wanted. I both like and dislike that, but I went to their site and clicked around. I couldn’t believe how affordable the frames were. I settled on these neon pink frames and this tortoiseshell pair. Combined, both pairs were a little over $50 with shipping. For someone with a prescription like mine, I sort of held my breath and waited for them to arrive. Part of me was like – are they even going to get to Hawaii? I wasn’t convinced yet, LOL! How Long Does Zenni Take To Ship?I placed my order on March 23 and my glasses arrived on April 5th. I was impressed by the two week time frame for a couple reasons. 1. They had to put my script into the frames. 2. Shipping to Hawaii always takes a bit of extra time. and 3. COVID has mail backed up and there have been delays. I bet mainland orders would arrive even sooner, but two weeks was fine by me! Zenni EyewearEach pair came with their own turquoise hard-plastic case and I was sent an extra case for a promotion that Zenni was running at the time of my order. The first thing I noticed was how expertly packed each pair of glasses was to ensure no cracks or breaks during transit. Admittedly, I was shocked by the quality of each pair. I sort of figured for the price, the plastic frames might be a little flimsy or the glass would be easily scratched, but I’m happy to report that after wearing them nonstop since I got them — they’re great! If I’m being more candid, I like them even more than the more expensive pair I purchased a couple years back from a designer label. I was able to input my PD on both pairs to make them a bit more custom fitted and it worked out great following Zenni’s online instructions. The screws/hinges are not weak, the plastic feels durable, and better yet – I only paid $52 for both pairs. My eye doctor visit costs more than that! I had loaded up my cart the day before I ordered and the promo code had switched from one thing to another, so just double check to make sure you’re getting the best deal. So, would I order from Zenni again? Yes absolutely! I think their selection is wide enough to please a variety of tastes, their shipping time is fast, and quality does not match price..it’s way better! Also, just in case anyone was curious, Zenni has no idea who I am and those $52 came directly from my bank account 😉 Where do you order your glasses? Have you tried Zenni? Ordered 2 pairs on 1/13, got them today. Shortest time was 10 business days back in October. Have about a dozen pairs from Zenni and all have been perfect--better than some I've paid hundreds for. A couple weren't ideal for my face, but those were $12, so no biggie. I got them Nov. 17. They emailed me in the interim with this on Nov. 12: Dear Mr. XXXX, Your order is back on track! We at Zenni Optical pride ourselves in the speed with which we deliver to our customers. Unfortunately, one of our shipments was delayed by Customs due to a bureaucratic oversight. Your order XXXX was part of that shipment. That shipment has now been released and we are working extra hours to get your order to you as soon as possible. We plan to ship all orders within the next 48 hours; you should receive your order a few business days thereafter. Please expect a subsequent email with your tracking number in the next few days. Sincerely, Zenni Optical Customer Service If I'd remembered just how long that pair took to get here, I wouldn't have bought another pair, but now I'm waiting on the pair that I ordered on Jan. 19. Hopefully, I'll get it without any trouble. Maybe if we send a few emails their way, they'll wake up and figure out that their shipping and customer service needs serious work. Twelve bucks is a great price to pay for glasses, so I hope they get things straightened out. I tried contacted them by email and phone last week with no luck. so I'm currently sitting at four weeks since my order. I am keeping my fingers crossed. I called a couple days ago, and they said they just expressed shipped it this last weekend, but they couldn't provide me with a tracking number. They said I should have it by Wed, 2/4, so we'll see. I remain a little skeptical, since they couldn't give me a tracking number. BTW, I got in their phone waiting line as the 10th caller, and it would count down my place in line, 10, 9, 8. etc. I thought that was rather neat since I've never experienced that anywhere before. I can only assume it is my order.
