Let the Price of the article before including GST be $x$

Price of article including GST $=Rs.1239$

GST(Goods and Service Tax) $=18\%$ of $x=\frac{(18\times x)}{100}$ $=0.18\times x$

$\therefore$ Price of article including GST$=$ Price before GST $+$ GST

$\Rightarrow x+\left(0.18x\right)=1239$

$\Rightarrow 1.18x=1239$

$\therefore x=\frac{1239}{1.18}=Rs.1050$

So, the price of article before GST was added $=Rs.1050$
