Due to the current situation, only Terminal 1 is in operation so far.

The new BER airport will have three terminals at two locations. For the time being, the airlines at BER will be distributed among the three terminals 1, 2 and 5. While the two terminals 1 and 2 are directly adjacent, Terminal 5 is not accessible on foot. Terminal 5 is located on the site of the old Schönefeld Airport and connected to the other terminals via S-Bahn lines S9 and S45.

Please find out which terminal your flight will depart from in advance.

Terminals 1 and 2:

With eight levels and a glass façade, Terminal 1 is the largest terminal at BER. Designed as a midfield terminal, it is located between two runways and towers above adjacent buildings such as hotels and multi-storey car parks. Here you will find ten check-in islands with a total of 118 counters, 36 security lines for departing passengers and five more for transfer passengers. Of course, you can also expect a Duty-free area and a wide range of shops, restaurants and service facilities. Terminal 1 will be the first terminal to open on 31 October.

Terminal 2 offers a direct connection to Terminal 1, but also has its own check-in facilities and security checks. Terminal 2 at BER Airport is ready for take-off, but is not expected to open until next spring - with the start of the summer flight schedule. The reason is the slump in passenger numbers due to the Corona crisis.

How do I get to Terminal 5?

The old Schönefeld Airport has been converted into Terminal 5. It is now located in the northern part of BER Airport and can be easily reached from the airport railway station in eight minutes with the S-Bahn (suburban railway) lines S9 and S45. The walk between the Flughafen BER – Terminal 5 station and the terminal takes an additional ten minutes. Buses and taxis also run between the terminals. Passengers with reduced mobility can use the free Mobility Service.

In addition to the check-in area, arrival and departure halls and the security control areas, Terminal 5 offers a wide range of shops, restaurants and other service facilities.
