Why is my novo 4 charging but not hitting

Even the best devices on the market can be prone to certain failures or malfunctions. That being said, not every malfunction means a device is broken, and in many cases users should be able to solve device issues on their own after reviewing our SMOK FAQs. Thanks to the simplicity of SMOK Vapes, issues are fairly rare and most basic repairs/diagnostics can be accomplished by the user or a vape shop employee. That being said, if there truly is a malfunction, you will have to contact SMOK’s warranty department or consult with 180 Smoke’s defect department.

Novo

Why is my SMOK Novo not firing?

If your device suddenly stops firing, this can be a result of a few different issues. First, ensure your device is fully charged and is accepting a charge. With the SMOK Novo, the small LED should light up when the device is charging and the SMOK Novo should work while the device is being charged.

If you’ve verified the device is fully charged and is still not firing, try changing the coil inside the pod. A dead or dud coil may not be making proper connection with the battery and causing the device to not fire.

Finally, you can try changing the pod of the device, as it may not be allowing the coil to make proper connection with the battery. As with the coil, the pod can be either damaged or improperly manufactured, and can therefore cause the SMOK Novo to not fire.

If you’ve tried all these fixes, there is a chance that your device is malfunctioning and will need to be evaluated by a professional and potentially returned to the manufacturer.

My SMOK Novo is not hitting?

Again, the first thing you’ll want to do is ensure your device is fully charged and is accepting a charge. Once this has been established, you can begin closer inspections.

Many of the fixes mentioned in the section about above regarding why the SMOK Novo is not firing, should also work in diagnosing your device. You should also be sure to check the contact points of your pod and battery. Start by disconnecting the pod from the battery and check to see if any e-liquid or moisture has accumulated on the contact points. If there is any moisture or vape juice, simply clean it off with a paper towel or q-tip.

Why is my SMOK Novo not charging?

A device that fails to charge is pretty much useless, but many failures to charge can be easily solved or are a result of small user error. First, confirm that you are using the correct charging cable. The SMOK Novo utilizes a standard micro USB cable, meaning it can be charged through a USB port or in an outlet with a charging brick.

If you are using the correct cable and your SMOK Novo still isn’t charging, check to see the cable is properly inserted into the device and into the port you are using to charge your Novo. Next, check the cable and ensure there are no signs of damage and nothing lodged in the actual ports. At this point try charging another device, such as a phone or tablet, with the USB cable to see if it is working at all. Finally, check the charging port on your Novo and clear it of any debris — this can be done with a small toothpick and some gentle care.

If none of these solutions work, your device may require further inspection by a professional. If the device is deemed defective, it will be returned to the manufacturer.

Why is the LED on my SMOK Novo blinking?

Because the SMOK Novo lacks any display, the single LED indicator is used to relay any and all information to the user. While this system does allow the SMOK Novo to be very portable and easy to use, understanding what the lights mean can take some time.

If the LED blinks in any of these formations it means the device is functioning normally:

  • 8 second protection: If the light flashes 5 times when vaping for longer than 8 seconds, it will shut down automatically for safety purposes.
  • Short circuit protection: If the LED detects a short circuit, it will flash 4 times and the battery will automatically shut down the output
  • Low voltage protection: When the battery capacity is lower than 3.3V, the LED light will flash 15 times and the battery will automatically shut down. This is the final warning to the user that the device needs to be charged immediately.

If the LED on the SMOK Novo keeps blinking, then it is most likely malfunctioning. In this instance, Please contact SMOK customer support and explain the issues you are having.

Why is my SMOK Novo pod leaking?

A leaking pod or tank can be incredibly annoying, but thankfully it is something easily resolvable. First, check to make sure all the rubber o-rings on the pod are properly in place and are not damaged. Be sure to also check to make sure the coil is properly inserted and is not allowing e-liquid to seep out through any threads.

Next, take care of how you fill your pod. Make sure the pod is not being overfilled, and that there is always a small space for air in the pod. This will help e-liquid move more freely through your wick and will help create a vacuum to keep e-liquid inside the pod.

Finally, if leaking continues, disassemble and clean your device to ensure e-liquid is not seeping through any seams.

Other things you can do to prevent leaking include, keeping your device upright and using e-liquid that isn’t too thin.

Why is my SMOK Novo is Autofiring?

An autofiring problem can be quite an issue, but surprisingly, this issue can usually be solved in just a few minutes. The autofiring issue is generally caused by e-liquid leaking through the device’s rubber seal and onto the air sensor. To fix this issue, simply disassemble your Novo until you reach the small rubber piece above the battery. Once you have access to the air sensor, gently wipe any residue off the sensor and reassemble the device. This should solve the autofiring issue, as long as you haven’t damaged the sensor or reassembled the device improperly.

The SMOK Novo has a number of different versions available.

Nord

Why isn’t my SMOK Nord firing/hitting?

If your SMOK Nord is failing to fire, first check to make sure the device is fully charged and is on. To turn the device on, simply click the fire button five times and check to see if the LED on the device turns on. If the device is powered on and still isn’t firing, there are still some things you can try to do.

Next, remove the pod and check to ensure all contact points are clean and free from moisture or e-liquid droplets. If you find any e-liquid on the contact points, simply take a paper towel, or q-tip, and gently wipe down your contacts on both the pod and the Nord device.

Finally, if these two solutions don’t work, it may be time to change the coil or pod. This is the ideal solution, as coils and pods are cheap to replace and this needs to be done no matter what after using the Nord for some time. Unfortunately, dud coils do exist so even if you recently replaced the coil, it may still malfunction.

Why isn’t my SMOK Nord charging?

If you happen to notice your Nord device isn’t charging, don’t despair. Thankfully, this is usually not an issue with the device and tends to indicate an issue with the charging cable or the charging port. The fastest way to diagnose a charging issue is to try another cable or charging source (i.e. a charging brick or USB port).

If a new cable and charging port is not working, check the ports for debris that may have accumulated in the device’s port or on the cable. If you find anything in the ports, simply blow on them to dislodge anything, or use a toothpick gently to coax out any debris or material.

Finally, if all else fails, you may be looking at a defective device. If this is the case, contact SMOK customer service and go through their defective device procedure.

Why does my Nord coil taste burnt?

While this is not a problem associated directly with the SMOK Nord, it is something that can happen to Nord users but thankfully it’s very avoidable. Under normal conditions, SMOK claims that its Nord coils can be expected to be used for 50mL of e-liquid. That being said, coils can sometimes degrade faster for a variety of reasons.

If you want to make your coils last longer, be sure to prime new coils before you install and use them. To prime your coil, simply drip a few drops of e-liquid directly onto the exposed parts of cotton and allow it to fully absorb. Doing this will allow the coil to more quickly absorb e-liquid and will allow the e-liquid it is submersed in to more easily flow into the wick.

Next, ensure that you aren’t overusing your device or chain vaping in excess. Putting continued stress on the coil from chain vaping can cause the wick to dry out before it has a chance to absorb more e-liquid, resulting in more stress on the coil and its eventual decline.

Why is my SMOK Nord Leaking

Unfortunately, leaking is a common issue in vaping but it’s something that can be easily solved. With the SMOK Nord, you can simply prevent leaking by keeping your vape upright, checking your seals and o-rings for damage, and not allowing e-liquid to sit unused in a tank for extended periods of time. These tips do not just apply to the SMOK Nord and can be applied to almost every pod-system and tank on the market.

My SMOK Nord is autofiring

An autofiring device can be an incredibly annoying and potentially dangerous. If you notice your device is autofiring, immediately remove the pod and turn the device off by clicking the fire button five times. Once you have the pod disconnected, check the contacts of the pod and device, and clean off any e-liquid that may have collected on them.

Next, check your fire button to see if anything is lodged in the button and may be forcing it down. Simply use a toothpick or tine tipped instrument to dislodge anything that may be stuck on the fire button.

If there is nothing stuck in the fire button, or it’s been dislodged and the device is still autofiring, you may have a bit of work ahead of you. Start by disassembling the entire device carefully and examining any internal piece that has e-liquid on it. Next, use a q-tip or paper towel to carefully clean e-liquid off these pieces, being sure to not damage any internal parts.

If all of these fixes do not solve your autofiring issue, please contact SMOK customer support and refrain from connecting a pod to the battery.
