Research Methods VS Research Methodology ??

Research methods are the various procedures, schemes, steps and algorithms used in research. All the methods used by a researcher during a research study are termed as research methods. They are essentially planned, scientific and value-neutral. They include observations, theoretical procedures, experimental studies, numerical schemes, statistical approaches, etc. Research methods help us collect samples, data and find a solution to a problem. Particularly, business and scientific research methods call for explanations based on collected facts, measurements and observations and not on reasoning alone. They accept only those explanations which can be verified by experiments.

Research methodology is a systematic way to solve a problem. It is a science of studying how research is to be carried out. Essentially, the procedures by which researchers go about their work of describing, explaining and predicting phenomena are called research methodology. It is also defined as the study of methods by which knowledge is gained. Its aim is to give the work plan of research.

The main difference between Research methods and Research methodology is that research methods, as in research, are used to signify the behavior and to provide the tools necessary to select required techniques, while on the other hand, a research methodology is a descriptive analysis or review of procedures and methods used in an investigation.

A reserch method is a particular way or technique of doing something. To layout the fundamental rules of a plan, the method plays an essential part. Every work or research needs pre-planning, so it can serve its purpose. The method can be different for different purposes and help to set out the easiest way of doing things.

The research methodology is a complete set of methods. It is formed by the principles and methods used for doing something. Just like methods or according to the need of research, methodologies also take different forms. For example, if one wants to teach kids, he has to consider teaching methodology. The methodology defines methods.

When conducting research, certain ways are already proposed to include systematic recording, and proper examination of that way is known as a method. Methods elaborate the workflow incorrect order. It falls into the category where it is used for applying and developing more easy ways of work.

The main objective of research methods is to make the process of working easy to adopt. There is a category known as study methods that include six symbols: (1) combined activities, (2) operation, (3) storage, (4) delay, (5) inspection, (6) transportation. Study methods have two types that are work-study and work measurements.

There are different methods for programming that contain a series in which statements of performing a task are given. Programming can contain countless numbers of methods and these methods must include header, return, and body statements.

People use research methods because they serve several objectives necessary for the completion of work that is improvement of the plan and description of the equipment. Other objectives are the development of layout, planning on how to use materials, machines, and men, how to reduce unnecessary expense and human efforts, how to increase improvement in the standards of safety, and how to accomplish an environment suitable for better performance.

Research is done to acquire knowledge related to the respective topic or field and research methodology is the approach to obtain that knowledge which also confirms the reliability of the acquired knowledge.

When setting up the infrastructure of research methodology, one should keep some Steps in mind that are first he should choose the subject because methodologies differ according to the subjects. Second, he should include the necessary techniques for data collection. The next step is the procedure of how to collect the required data. Other steps include techniques of data analysis and procedures of observing the data that has been analyzed.

Research methodologies are very intellectual acts that are used in an investigation by humans. It directly interacts with the data that should be collected from the sources, analyzed by researchers, and interpreted by the users or co-workers. In general words, research methodologies describe a vivid approach towards a given topic or field.

The main advantage of methodologies is that they can avoid errors beforehand so that there will not be any problems in the future. There are several types of methodologies but two methods are mainly used that are qualitative and quantitative. In short, it is a parameter where every objective is already given and described.

Main Differences Between Research Methods and Research Methodology

1. Research methods conduct surveys and provide techniques for investigation while methodologies perform tests on these techniques to prevent further possible damages.

Conclusion

In conclusion, it would be right to say that no research can go perfectly with setting up methods of procedures. It is important and also convenient to understand the requirements of research. What objective it is going to serve, what equipment it is going to use, how many men and tools would be required to run it properly.

These are things that should be handled in advance and it is done with the help of research methods and research methodology. All the details about research should be included for a better perspective. In short, methods and methodologies are an essential part of research.
