Anyone else having or had this problem?
I have a pretty good rig and I've always been able to play Minecraft at 160+ fps but for some reason it's limiting me to 60fps max even when the setting for it is set to unlimited. Is this a bug with the latest snapshot or something?

World > Galaxy 1 > 2 > Galaxy 2 > 1 > Many others >>>>>>>> 3 > 64

I believe the Snapshot isn't optimised so the fps is low

Whoever said the pen is mightier than the sword has obviously never encountered automatic weapons.

The vast majority of monitors can only display at most 60fps. Many video games know this and will cap the frame rate there. There's a setting for this in Minecraft, probably moving to the snapshot caused you video settings to change. But the only reason to change it would be because either you have an expensive 120fps monitor, or you want to see how high it goes just for kicks. Frames over your monitor's refresh rate are just wasted energy.

I haven't played MC in a few weeks and like I said in my post I was able to do 120+ fps before switching to this snapshot

What's your point? You didn't address anything I said.

How come I can visually see a difference when I limit Minecraft to 60fps then unlock it (usually around 130fps)?

My monitor isn't exactly good yet there is a clear difference

Try pressing F3 and watching the FPS when you limit it to 60. It might be that it's occasionally dipping below and that's why you notice a difference, and if that's the case I would call it bad coding on Mojang's part. If you don't limit the FPS, and it still has drops in the frame rate but not below 60, that would account for the difference. Or maybe you're imagining it.

Check your graphics card thingy. I forget what the term is, but I have AMD Control Center. In there, see if you have vsync force-enabled. This might be holding the frames to 60. If not, try switching to another version, perhaps 1.7, and see if they're still limited. If they stay limited in 1.7, it's most likely a problem on your end.If not, I'd say it's the snapshot.

Goodluck!

I know what your going to say, disable vsync. It's disabled and my max framerate is unlimited. Idk why it's locking at 60fps even when I lower the settings. Help would be appreciated, thanks!

And I have no idea what graphics card or cpu or any of your build is. Maybe you've got a gt520 and that's all you get.

you did know know what i was going to say, but did you disable vsync in the driver global settings? have you reinstalled the video card driver and then disabled vsync? (uninstall using driversweeper to remove reg entries) Please let us know the full system specs of your machine. Cheers.

go into catalyst control centre and find vsync, set to off. To be honest, having your gpu output more frames than your monitor can display is pointless. 60fps should be completely smooth with vsync on. If your pc has trouble maintaining 60fps and dips below, try installing Optifine mod, it boosts fps significantly.

I have installed Kali Linux on a 16GB usb, but every time I reboot, it resets itself. Do I have to do the "Install kali linux" (from my usb where kali is installed) option and install it on an other usb? Because my HDD is dead and I am still looking for one. In the meantime I would like to use linux from usb (also for future cases when other suff break) So my question:

How do I install linux (doesn't matter which version) on a usb and that it isn't resetting itself after each reboot?

Fixed it myself, just install on it. exept that I get ext4 fs errors after linux "explorer.exe" crashes. Anyway, I'm getting a SSHD so yeah..

Under Lubunto there is an option to partition part of the install USB drive to install to.
After install you need to remove the Boot Install files or it will boot to the install partition and not boot the second "Installed" version.

Is there any video or picture or a "read" tutorial for it? (Sorry if I sound noob, because I am)

Why Kali? Kali is not a general use distribution, it's aimed squarely at network security types. It isn't for "noobs"

I wanted to download mint, but I wasnt at my mind and chose kali instead. anyway, it is not the features I want, just the normal usage of internet. (I tried to hack my neighbours wifi password 3 times, but something happend wrong each time) Maybe I'll download mint again, but it takes time with my 8.8Mbps download speed. My friend got 80Mbps and an other friend got 130Mbps.

Also, with a "permanent" install, is it possible to wipe the whole usb to gain the 16gb again? (14.9gb usually)

This is enough to get you sent to prison if your neighbor presses charges.
That being said it is against forum rules to help you any more.
