I just got this new tablet 2 days ago and I have tried all I can think of the solve this use, but can't figure out how to get it to work. The display always shows "no signal" before entering power-saving mode, and the pen still works like a regular screen-less tablet, but the display refuses to work no matter what I try. so far I have tried:
-connecting to another laptop [hp]

-Reinstalling huion drivers.

-updating my laptop.

-restarting my laptop multiple times. [tabled plugged in both after and before restart]

-rearranging the order I connect the tablet cables.

-scanned for second monitors in settings. [nothing is detected]

-updating my display settings.

-connecting tablet with display set to extended or duplicate.

I have a windows 10 laptop [lenovo], and I've heard that it might just not be compatible with the computer at the moment, but I'm really hoping there's another solution.

The Only other option I can think of is to get a USB hub with an HDMI port included; however, I'm not sure if I can find one in my location or if I have to funds to make that purchase at the moment.
Can anyone help me with this issue?

Situation 1. Pen display shows a black screen

The pen display indicator does not light up and the pen display shows a black screen. When you encounter such a situation, please check:

  1. Whether the power cable is damaged or not. If the power cable is damaged, please change your power cable.
  2. Whether all the cables are properly connected. If all the cables are connected correctly but the pen display still shows a black screen, this issue may be caused by improper handling during transportation, and thereby some components may have been damaged. Please contact our customer service for further assistance.

Situation 2. Pen display shows no signal

The pen display indicator is red and when you turn it on, it shows NO SIGNAL or NO CABLE. When you come across this issue, please check the following to fix it:

  1. Please note that if you are using a desktop computer and have a discrete or dedicated graphics card, please connect the VGA/DVI/HDMI/ 3-in-1/USB-C cable to the discrete or dedicated graphics card.   2. Unplug and re-plug the VGA/DVI/HDMI/ 3-in-1/USB-C cable.
  3. Please check if there is a problem with the computer signal interface by using another cable or interface.
  4. If there are no other interfaces or cables available, please try on another computer.
  5. If you used an adapter to connect the cable, please try to use another adapter.
  6. If you are using a USB-C cable or an HDMI to USB-C adapter, check if your computer has a full-featured USB-C port that can handle both data transfers and display. These types of USB-C ports have either of these logos beside them:

    You can check your computer specifications to know whether it has this type of USB-C port. Otherwise, you won't be able to connect your tablet using such a port. Try using an HDMI connection instead, if your computer has an HDMI port.
  7. Reset your tablet display
    1. Kamvas 12 and Kamvas 13
      1. Long press K4 and K5 to bring up the OSD Menu. 
      2. Press K6 to select Other then press K3 to confirm.
      3. Select Reset then press K3 to confirm the reset.

Fixes to try if you are using the 3-in-1 connection

If you are using the 3-in-1 cable to connect the Kamvas 13 to your computer, please follow the methods below in the order listed. If the first method does not fix the problem, proceed to the next.

  • Method 1. Check if you connect the Kamvas 13 to your computer the right way
  • Method 2. Check if the Kamvas 13 has enough power
  • Method 3. Test with another computer or monitor
  • Method 4. Make sure you are in Duplicate or Extend mode
  • Method 5. Update your computer's graphics driver

Method 1. Check if you connect the Kamvas 13 to your computer the right way

Some times the problem may occur due to incorrect connection between the pen display and your device.

If your problem still exists, proceed to Method 2.

Method 2. Check if the Kamvas 13 has enough power

An insufficient power supply may cause a flashing screen and black screen.

  1. Connect the red USB-A end of the 3-in-1 cable to a USB power adapter, and plug it into a power outlet.
  2. If the logo does not appear and the LED light around the display's power button will not turn on, please connect the USB-C end of your 3-in-1 cable to the lower USB-C port on your tablet (the port that is supposedly for the USB-C to USB-C cable) and check if the logo appears and if the tablet's LED light will turn on to confirm whether the 3-in-1 cable power supply is working.
  3. If the logo will not appear and the power button's LED light will not turn on, then the issue is with the 3-in-1 cable. Thus, the 3-in-1 cable needs to be replaced.
  4. If the logo appears and the power button's LED light will turn on, it means that the upper USB-C port of the tablet is not working. Thus, the tablet needs to be replaced.

If there is no problem with the power supply, proceed to Method 3.

Method 3.Test with another computer or monitor

If there is no problem with the physical connection and power supply, please check if the HDMI port of your computer or the 3-in-1 cable is defect. 

  1. Connect the pen display to another computer. If the problem solves, the HDMI port of the previous computer may be defect.
  2. Connect another working monitor to the same HDMI port. If the problem solved, there 3-in-1 cable may be broken. Please contact us at for replacement.

If your problem still exists, proceed to Method 4.

Method 4. Make sure you are in Duplicate or Extend mode

If you are using the Kamvas 13 as a second monitor, please make sure the display option is Duplicate or Extend mode.

  1. Press the Windows logo key + P on your keyboard. 
  2. Choose Duplicate or Extend mode. Don’t choose PC screen only or Second screen only.

A corrupted, buggy, or outdated version of the graphics driver can prevent the pen display from getting recognized. The easiest way to resolve this problem is to update or reinstall the graphics driver.

  1. Open Start.
  2. Search for Device Manager and click the top result to open the app.
  3. Double-click to expand the Display adapters branch.
  4. Right-click the adapter, and select the Update driver option.

If Windows Update can find a newer driver, then it'll download and install the update automatically, hopefully fixing any issues with the pen display.

Fixes to try if you are using the USB-C to USB-C connection

If you are using the USB-C to USB-C cable to connect the Kamvas 13 to your computer or Andorid device, please follow the steps in the methods below in the order listed. If the first method does not fix the problem, proceed to the next.

  • Method 1. Check if you connect the Kamvas 13 to your device in the right way
  • Method 2. Check if the Kamvas 13 has enough power
  • Method 3. Make sure the device support USB3.1 GEN1 data transfer protocol and DP1.2 Alternate Mode
  • Method 3. Test with another computer or monitor
  • Method 4. Make sure you are in Duplicate or Extend mode
  • Method 5.Update your graphics driver

Method 1. Check if you connect the Kamvas 13 to your device in the right way

Some times the problem may occur due to incorrect connection between the pen display with your device.

  1. Follow the instruction to connect the pen display to your computer or Android device.
  2. Unplug the cables running from the pen display to your computer and plug them back in, making sure the connections are firm.
  3. Some connection types don’t like hot swapping while a monitor is powered on. Turn the display off and then on again. That may be all it needs to recognize the video feed and start displaying it correctly.

If your problem still exists, proceed to Method 2.

Method 2. Check if the Kamvas 13 has enough power

Insufficient power supply may cause flashing screen and black screen.

  1. Connect the included USB-C to USB-A cable or your own USB-C to USB-A cable to a USB power adapter, and then plug into a power outlet.

Method 3. Make sure the device support USB3.1 GEN1 data transfer protocol and DP1.2 Alternate Mode

If the USB-C port of your device does not support USB3.1 Gen1 data transfer protocol and DP1.2 Alter Mode, you may experience the black screen and no signal issue. You can refer to below article to learn how to tell if your device support the standards.

Method 4. Make sure you are in Duplicate or Extend mode

If you are using the Kamvas 13 as a second monitor, please make sure the display option is Duplicate or Extend mode.

  2. choose Duplicate or Extend mode. Don’t choose PC screen only or Second screen only.
