I saw an ELI5 post from a few years ago but I still do not understand it entirely. I understand that it's a defensive response to being touched in places on your body that are "vulnerable to attack", I am just trying to understand why laughter is the response. What's advantageous to laughter rather than some other response? Has there been any advances in tickling science that have any insight on this topic?
