What happens to Yamato When Kabuto takes him?

Yamato, who is from the Iburi clan, is from Konohagakure (the Hidden Leaf village) and has always been a skillful and good child. He joined the academy, graduated from there at just 6 years of age, and was promoted to the chunin rank.

Yamato was kidnapped by Orochimaru, who is one of the Legendary Sannin of Hidden Leaf and played an important part in the ninja war. He also has a dark side and keeps doing an experiment which is prohibited, but still, to gain power, he keeps experimenting in a secret area on the outskirts of the Hidden Leaf village.

Orochimaru injected the Hashirama Senju DNA into each of the sixty children he abducted to experiment on, and put all of them in a test tube. Yamato sees the other kids dying day by day. After Hiruzen learns about the Orochimaru experiment, he sets off intending to stop him. Orochimaru flees away but Hiruzen could not find his lab. Yamato, after some weeks, subconsciously released the Wood Style and got out of the test tube.

After coming out of the test tube, Yamato forgets everything about himself, who he is, where he is from, and what his name is. Danzo was able to find him, and after seeing his Wood Release and knowing he could use Wood Style, he adopted him into the Hidden Leaf’s secret Root division group and was given a codename Kinoe. After he got settled in the group, Danzo made sure that no one else would see him because he wanted him to be his own guard and weapon, as he was the only wood user left in the ninja world.

Danzo started training him daily to perfect and control his wood release and started turning him into an emotionless ninja who just followed his orders without any questions or complaints.

Kakashi Hatake also joined the Root division and learned about Yamato. Kakashi was also doing his duties for Hidden Leaf and reported to Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage of the Hidden Leaf.

Danzo always wanted to be Hokage, and just when he thought he was going to be one, Hiruzen was chosen by the Second Hokage Tobirama Senju. Danzo gave his Anbu Root group the order to assassinate the Third Hokage Hiruzen so that he could be the next Hokage.

However, Kakashi informed Hiruzen about this, and Danzo failed in his plan. Kakashi and Yamato then fought each other, but Kakashi defeated him and spared his life because he thought Yamato would be an important ally in the future. Yamato started following Kakashi to see what he did and why he spared him after knowing Danzo’s and the Root division’s truth. Yamato then got an order from Danzo that he wanted to meet Orochimaru, hiding in the Ibura clan's secret place.

After delivering the message to Orochimaru, Danzo also promises that he will help him get out of the Hidden Leaf and will help him not get caught by the village's shinobi. Kakashi followed Yamato to catch Orochimaru and entered the underground area of the Iburi clan but then was caught by the clan members. Still, Yamato saved him by defending him, saying that Kakashi was with him.

When the two of them were discussing their spying missions, Gotta, who is the leader of the clan, overheard them and told his group to kill them. Yukimi, a girl who met Yamato there and said that she was his sister, saved both of them, helping them escape the area.

Kakashi talked to Yamato, saying that Orochimaru will try to harm the Iburi clan and the clan members, and wanted to possess their jutsu and abilities of smoke, so Yamato agreed to cooperate with Kakashi but still rejected the bait idea that Kakashi suggested. Kakashi’s idea was to use Yukimi as bait to capture Orochimaru, but then Yamato ran away with Yukimi because he saw her as a sister and as a human, unlike Kakashi who always gave the mission priority.

After seeing the two like this, Kakashi understood that Yamato was not like him and agreed to work with Yamato. After returning to the basement area of the Iburi clan they found out that Orochimaru killed the whole clan and captured Yukimi to gain the jutsu ability of the Iburi clan. He failed to do so because Kakashi and Yamato came to her rescue. Yukimi’s body starts to destabilize because of Orochimaru’s curse mark but Yamato uses his Wood Style to calm her body down. Kakashi left them by telling Yamato that he should join him as a Hidden Leaf member and leave the Root division, because what they were doing was wrong.

After returning to Root, Danzo and his men were furious with Yamato because he did not carry out the mission well and had denied the order Danzo gave. He told his men to capture Yamato. Kakashi came to his rescue but got surrounded by the Anbu Root group members. The Third Hokage then entered the area and ordered Danzo to give Yamato back, or else he would tell everything to the Lord of the Hidden Villages and they would suspend the whole Root division. Still, Danzo refused to unseal the cursed mark on Yamato, but later had to.

Yamato joined Anbu Black Ops with Kakashi, and they carried out missions well in the Kakashi team. When Itachi Uchiha joined as the youngest Anbu clan member, many Anbu members questioned the Third Hokage’s decision. Still, soon they saw how skillful Itachi was, and soon after, he was chosen to be the captain of Anbu Black Ops, which made Yamato feel jealous and surprised.

Later in a mission, when all the Anbu clan was given the order to stay alert as the Uchiha clan was planning to coup a Hidden Village and capture it under their clan, it was Itachi who killed the whole clan himself.

Kakashi got upset because he thought he was too weak and had no ability or feeling toward any of his comrades, and resigned from the Anbu clan. He was given the assignment to be the sensei for the jonin. Still, Yamato kept on working in Anbu and had a record of having the most successful missions, and became the best Anbu member serving under third Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi.

Later in the Naruto series, when Lady Tsunade was appointed as Hokage and when she called Yamato for a mission because Kakashi was unable to go because of the injury he had, Tsunade asked Yamato to temporarily be the captain of the newly formed Team 7, where another new member Sai, who was a Root member, had joined Naruto and Sakura.

The mission is about recovering the son of the daimyo, Shu, an ally. Later, Team 10 encounters Akatsuki. Yamato took charge and was able to defend and rescue Shu.

When he told Tsunade about the Akatsuki who were trying to capture Naruto, who has the Nine-Tailed beast, they somehow safely returned to the Hidden Village. Then Yamato was assigned with Kakashi to keep track of Naruto's beast form. During the mission, Naruto goes broken, transforming into a tailed beast.

After Pain destroyed the whole Konoha village, Yamato helped the whole village with his wood-style ability to reconstruct the houses. After that, in the 4th Ninja War, he was abducted by Kabuto who used his Hashirama cells to make clones of White Zetsu, which really gave an upper hand to Kabuto, Madara, and Obito, who wanted to capture the whole world under the genjutsu.

After The 4th Ninja War was over and Naruto became a Hokage, he gave Yamato a task to keep his eyes on Orochimaru's movements as he was allowed to stay in his lab and do experiments that would help the Hidden Leaf village.

What happens to Yamato When Kabuto takes him?
Fans of Deidara can be happy, as episode 255 shows a lot more of him than the last episode did. I also have to give a special mention to the pic above, as it was probably the most epic scene of the entire episode.

As we saw last week, the episode ended with Deidara having attempted to blow up the Tsuchikage with one of his clay bombs. Unsurprisingly, in this episode we see that the Tsuchikage is ok and that it was a clone of his that was blown up.

The Tsuchikage tells Deidara he has a cheek coming back amongst the living after he got himself killed by some kid from Konoha. Deidara angrily responds that he wasn’t defeated and that he killed Sasuke Uchiha. In saying this, it was enough to let the Tsuchikage know that Deidara has no idea of anything that has happened since his death. Deidara tries to move, but finds his body is frozen and can’t be moved of his own accord. Of course this is because as the one who cast the Edo Tensei, Kabuto has control over him.

Kabuto makes Deidara fly down towards the turtle island, and as soon as the Tsuchikage realises he chases after them. Deidara and Kabuto reach the turtle first, and Deidara tells Kabuto to go and look for Bee and Naruto while he takes on the Tsuchikage, which Kabuto agrees with. Onoki then catches up and prepares to use one of his Jinton techniques to blow Deidara to dust, and Deidara is clearly worried that he would go all out like that so fast. Just before he can launch his attack however, one of his guards – Akatsuchi – grabs him from behind and stops him, explaining that if he uses the Jinton technique in that place then he would end up killing the turtle as well.

Deidara senses an opportunity to attack while everyone is distracted, and launches one of his clay bird bombs at the three Iwa ninja. Deidara’s attack however is blocked by Akatsuchi’s Golem technique much to his annoyance. Onoki then gets Deidara to fly up in to the air to try and get a good enough distance away to be able to use his Jinton without hurting the turtle. Back on the ground, Kabuto is trying to figure out how to get inside the turtle so that he can get to Bee and Naruto, as his new creation, dubbed “Manda 2” coils around the turtle and binds it tight. Kurotsuchi comes down after Kabuto however, and tries to get Kabuto stuck with her jutsu which was super sticky and was like cement. Kabuto easily dodges her attacks, but then Yamato, Motoi and Aoba all show up since they had to see where the tremors they felt were coming from.

Kurotsuchi tells them that she will attack and they can use her distraction to actually catch Kabuto, though by using a water style technique on her previous sticky sludge, it starts expanding and catches Kabuto without even needing the Konoha ninja. With Kabuto completely stuck, using Yamato’s Mokuton as a bridge over the sludge Aoba goes over to interrogate Kabuto. Just as he was about to read his mind and get the info, Kabuto shed his skin and a white snake came flying out much like Orochimaru’s old technique. It takes everyone by surprise, and as Kabuto is coming towards Yamato and Motoi, Yamato uses his Mokuton to push Motoi to safety, but is then himself swallowed by Kabuto in his snake form.

The snake version of Kabuto is then seen slipping and sliding past all of Kurotsuchi’s attempts to stop him and free Yamato, and then Kabuto slides up in to Manda 2’s nostril, and vanishes along with him. Elsewhere, we see Deidara and Onoki in a face off. Just as the big attacks were about to happen however, a coffin suddenly appeared behind Deidara and closed shut on him, and then disappeared. Back on the turtle, Onoki enquires about what happened. Motoi explains and things clearly aren’t good as Onoki wonders whether Yamato was the target right from the beginning, or if he was taken just for hostage purposes.

We then see Kabuto again in a cave with Madara, who when presented with Yamato, asks if this was all Kabuto had meant by getting him a present. Although Madara is clearly annoyed / disappointed by only getting Yamato, Kabuto tells him that he will actually come in very useful, as he can use him to make the Zetsu army much stronger than previously possible. Then right at the end, we see the epic scene (the one I mentioned earlier) with a close up on Madara’s face and him proclaiming that he wants the war to start as his left eye is itching for battle.

This was a decent episode, it was ruined a bit for me because the Crunchyroll stream seemed to be getting stuck quite often for no apparent reason, but the episode itself was ok. We got to see more of Deidara which I am sure will please a lot of fans, and also getting to see Kabuto in snake form was creepy and at the same time shows just how much like Orochimaru he is. Manda 2 was pretty awesome as well, the idea of a stronger and all round better version of the original is cool and leaves you wondering how much we will see of him again in the future. It’s a shame Deidara and Onoki couldn’t have had a proper fight, but with all the battles coming up soon then there will be plenty to like for fans of action in this Anime. Overall a pretty good episode, and the scene with Madara at the end is worth seeing if nothing else.
