Height of two triangle are 5cm and 10cm having equal base find the ratio of their area

Base of a triangle is 9 and height is 5. Base of another triangle is 10 and height is 6. Find the ratio of areas of these triangles.

Let ABC and PQR be two right triangles with AB ⊥ BC and PQ ⊥ QR.
Given: BC = 9, AB = 5, PQ = 6 and QR = 10.

`("Area"(triangle"ABC"))/("Area"(triangle"PQR")) = (1/2 xx "AC" xx "BC")/(1/2 xx "PQ" xx "QR")`

= `(1/2 xx 5 xx 9)/(1/2 xx 6 xx 10)`

= `3/4`

Hence, Ratio of Area of △ABC : Area of △PQR = 3: 4.
