The duplicating events issue may be related to a sync glitch or to the fact, that Calendars 5 displays the same events from the built-in calendar app on the iPad/iPhone along with your Google account data.

Follow the steps below to remove the duplication:

iPhone

  1. Tap  .
  2. Tap  .
  3. Tap Local Calendars.
  4. Turn off Google Calendars.

iPad

  1. Tap  .
  2. Tap Local Calendars.
  3. Turn off Google Calendars.

In this case Google Calendar attached to the iOS calendar app will be removed from Calendars 5.

If you still can see some events duplicating, check the list of all calendars under  the icon and uncheck the calendar copies.

Event duplication is usually caused by another calendar syncing process running at the same time as Cirrus Insight Calendar Sync. We'd recommend connecting with your Salesforce admin to see if your org is currently using (or has used in the past) any other calendar syncing applications such as Salesforce for Outlook, Ebsta, Yesware, or Appirio Cloud Sync.

Those processes need to be completely disabled, uninstalled, and blocked in Salesforce to avoid event duplication. One area that's often overlooked is Connected Apps Oauth Usage under the Manage Apps section in Setup. Salesforce provides some helpful information about revoking/blocking apps here:

"Salesforce - Monitor Usage for Connected Apps"

If you don't find any other calendar syncing applications within Connected Apps Oauth Usage, please contact Support and provide the following:

  1. Screenshot(s) of all apps within Connected Apps Oauth Usage
  2. Screenshots of an example duplicated event

Hi, Cameron:

I followed your directions for my google apps account and removed the calendar app, waited 20 minutes, then reactivated it, waited another 20 minutes and then opened my google calendar. My calendar is now showing 5 or 6 repeats of each task. I actually did this twice today after removing the repeated tasks, but when I reactivated it - even more of the same tasks repeated.

Also, even though I checked off that I didn't want to see tasks that I completed, they are still showing with a check mark next to them on my calendar.

Can you let me know if there is a way to rid of all the same tasks repeats?

Cameron has created a fix for this. It worked perfectly for me. I'll let him respond, though, because I'm not sure if he wants the fix out in the open yet.

Laura and Scott - Thanks for confirming this fixed your issues.

For other users who may have duplicate events on their calendars after activating calendar integration, here is some background info on the issue and the fixes put in place to eliminate the problem:

Sometimes during calendar integration creating a batch of new events fails - the events are created, but a network error occurs when linking those back to GQueues tasks. Since the failure happens at such a point that GQueues doesn't have a link to these newly created events, it can't delete them before trying the process again.  So duplicates appear on the calendar, although only one of the events is actually linked to the task in GQueues.

1. I've changed the code to reduce the chance of duplicates being created in the first place

2. A cleanup process now runs 5 minutes after activating calendar integration to remove any duplicate events if they were created

So if you currently have duplicates on you calendar, deactivate calendar integration and then reactivate, and this time all your events should show up on your GQueues calendar without duplicates.

I'm having this problem of duplicate events, too.  Where do I find this GQueues screen at?
