Why did Jay gain weight in season 2

So I was watching a rerun of  “My Wife and Kids,” and Jay (Tisha Campbell-Martin’s character) had noticeably gained a little weight. Her husband, Michael (Damon Wayans’ character), found her unsexy, had a quick therapy session, and took some Viagra so he could get up to the task–so to speak. There aren’t any overweight characters on the show. Even when a character becomes pregnant, she is all belly. The show is a comedy. I find it funny. This time, however, it made me think.

Jay told Michael that he should accept her the way she is. He eventually agreed. Cute, right? Well, it didn’t last long. Jay has a dream that Michael and their kids are all morbidly obese. They’re breathing heavy, fighting over food and their youngest child is so large she simply rolls around. Oh, and of course their clothes don’t fit. Oddly enough, Jay is the only one that is normally plump.

Of course Jay woke up and declared that she would start dieting immediately. She emptied out several snack stashes and the show ended shortly after. Jay’s weight affected her marriage. Michael was immediately  less attracted to her.

Should I take this as a TV lesson? I’m overweight. I don’t have a huge stomach or anything, but I am bottom heavy. I’m sure you can figure out what that means without my having to go into detail. I’m married. I haven’t been married for years on end, but I’m married just the same. My husband has never complained about my weight. He frowns when I complain about it. He’s very supportive of me overall.

My questions: As a married woman, or as a woman in a relationship, how important is your weight? Should you tailor your weight to suit your relationship? As a single woman, is weight more or less of an issue?

The actor’s breakthrough role in Hollywood consisted of being the immature character from Parks and Recreation. As the years have gone by, he has kept his humorous style but Chris Pratt has also undergone weight loss in a glow-up transformation.

The star has made a big physical transformation and looks almost unrecognizable compared to his younger days. The actor who played loveable Andy Dwyer looks very different from The Guardians of the Galaxy’s Star-Lord.

Chris Pratt’s life since the years of being on Parks and Recreation has also seen changes. Chris married Arnold Schwarzenegger’s daughter Katherine in 2019. The couple now share two children together, Eloise and Lyla with Chris also sharing son Jack with ex-wife Anna Faris.

Let’s take a look at Chris Pratt’s weight loss after Parks and Rec.

Andy Dwyer began as a guest role

Parks and Recreation became a popular series that aired between 2009 and 2015. Chris Pratt’s fame skyrocketed after appearing on the famous American sitcom series as Andy Dwyer.

In the beginning, Andy was a guest role and was supposed to appear in only six episodes. Nonetheless, the viewers fell in love with his character and he turned into the main cast in the following seasons.

Fans see Andy dating Anne at the start of the show, who has to wait on him after he breaks both legs. After their relationship ended, Andy tries to find himself and dates April.

As reported by The Daily Mail, Pratt purposely gained weight to play the character because it made him funnier. He revealed to have gained around 30 to 40 pounds after the creator of the show, Michael Schur had permitted him.

The Jurassic Park actor rounded out at 300 pounds. His weight gain became a competition where he would challenge himself to see how much he could eat.

Speaking to Jimmy Kimmel, the actor admitted that being overweight affected his health. Although he would be losing and gaining weight depending on the character for certain roles, he decided “to get in shape” and “never be fat again.”

As per US Magazine, once he had finished filming for the series, the actor dropped a whopping 60 pounds in six months after realizing his desire of looking funny on TV got out of hand.

Once Chris entered the world of action films, the actor started to take care of his physique. The actor had been cast as Star-Lord for The Guardians of the Galaxy.

He revealed to have worked out six days a week with a variety of exercises that included running, swimming, and boxing. Chris consumed a total of 4,000 calories a day and replaced beer by drinking a lot of water.

Clearly, it was all about the little choices and the consistency.

This episode was tactless and in poor taste. There are better ways to raise awareness about obesity or tell parents that they need to set a healthy example for their kids that won't make anyone who is slightly (because his wife wasn't that much heavier that before) overweight feel like an animal. I just started watching this show from the beginning and have enjoyed it up until this episode I hope there are no others like it.
