Jessika Farrell is a popular American YouTuber who goes by the name of Jessika the Prankster in her account. Jessika, thank you for interviewing with We Are Entertainment News today. Tell us a little about your origin story. What made you start doing prank videos?

I’d been living with my foster mom for only a couple of months, and one day I decided to prank her. I just thought it would be funny to trick her. People thought it was so funny, so I decided to keep making them after the first video. It brought us closer.

Known as Jessika the Prankster, you’ve made such an impact already, and you’re only 18. Did you ever think that you would become such a significant influencer?

I still can’t believe I influence people. Of course, I love to make people smile. That was always my goal, but I never thought I would become such a major influencer.

We hear that you’re switching gears and starting to branch out into a more serious role as an advocate for youth wellness. How has that been going so far?

Mental health is so important. People are hurting and in pain, especially young people. Putting a smile on people’s faces was always the goal, but now it’s deeper. We want people to know how to cope with their problems. It’s going well.

That’s great! You recently published a journal, In My Feelings, which allows teens to collect their thoughts and express their feelings on paper. How did that idea come about? 

I’ve had my share of dark days. I would always write things down, but I felt lost. I didn’t know how to express what I was feeling. So, I wanted to give people a guide—something more specific to help them express themselves.

Growing up in a new era where today’s teens don’t write in their diaries as much, how effective would you say journaling can be for the new age teen?

In My Feelings, my journal is so different from the old school plain sheets of paper diaries. Some pages in the journal are for you to color just to maybe let out some steam. Some pages have affirmations. In the back are substantial resources and numbers to call if you need immediate help. In My Feelings is very effective for the new age.

I may have to pick up a copy myself! What other forms of youth advocation are you hoping to do in the future?

For my friend’s birthday a few days ago, we handed out meals to the homeless. That felt good. I want to continue helping those in need. I’m so grateful. Life was very different for me just three years ago. I think I will always feel the need to give back.

Any plans to pursue acting professionally in the future?

I’m currently auditioning for roles. I’ve done some independent work. I want to book a role in a major film or tv show. I would love that.

Do you have any other upcoming roles or projects that we can look forward to?

I have an excellent idea for a film I want to develop. Currently, it’s still in the baby stages. I can’t wait to share those details.

 What do you do for fun when you’re not working as a comedian, rapping, or advocating? 

I love hanging out with my friends, of course. Watch movies, shopping, and I love naps.
