Andre Iguodala says he will announce his return-or-retire decision on his podcast at some point. But no decision yet. Warriors open training camp two weeks from tomorrow. Steve Kerr and the team's veteran players want Iguodala to return.

The reports on Seranthony Domínguez were good; Rob Thomson said his fastball was 98-100 mph during his inning at Triple A. Domínguez could be activated Saturday. Meanwhile, Zach Eflin threw 27 pitches in two innings Friday at Triple A. He struck out three and allowed a homer. He could be activated soon. It would not be surprising to see him start Sept. 16 in Atlanta as an opener for Ranger Suárez.
1
Seranthony Domínguez will pitch Thursday for Triple-A Lehigh Valley. It's possible he could be activated after just one outing there, but the Phillies will see how it goes. And Zach Eflin will start Friday for Lehigh Valley, but treat it like a bullpen game. He'll warm up and enter the game from the bullpen. His rehab stint might be just one outing.

Harrell's signing also likely does not bode well for Paul Reed and/or Charles Bassey. The Sixers are up to 17 players with guaranteed or partially-guaranteed NBA contracts and will have to move some of them to both get to the 15-man regular season roster limit and continue to stay under the hard cap. Bassey and Reed have partially and non-guaranteed contracts, and another center on the team now.

The first thought is that Harrell has an excellent chance to play a role in Philadelphia. He has a history with Doc Rivers, Daryl Morey and James Harden. Rivers, who tends to favor experience, famously continued to play Harrell despite the player's ineffective performance in the Orlando bubble for the Clippers. That was the same year Harrell won the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year under Rivers.

A source confirmed that the Sixers have signed free-agent center Montrezl Harrell to a two-year contract at the veteran minimum. ESPN had the initial report. I will have some more detailed thoughts for tomorrow morning, but some initial reaction to come in the following briefs...
1
Both Seranthony Domínguez and Zach Eflin threw to hitters on the field at Citizens Bank Park. There was some rust for both, but Eflin was up to 93-94 mph. If they feel good Wednesday, the next step could be minor-league games. Rob Thomson said it could be only one or two games in the minors until they return.

Furkan Korkmaz scored 16 points (6-12 FG) for Turkey in their EuroBasket win over Belgium on Tuesday. It's notable that Korkmaz was able to play a few days after allegedly getting into a locker room fight with Georgian players after being ejected from a game between the two countries. Per EuroHoops, Korkmaz said, "Basically, it was a street fight. Five people attacked us, we defended ourselves."

Dalton Guthrie had done enough, Rob Thomson said, to merit protection on the 40-man roster to prevent him from becoming a minor-league free agent. So, to clear space for him, the Phillies designated Luis Garcia for assignment. Garcia was once a regarded prospect; he signed for $2.5 million. Phillies pushed him in 2019 to Low A and it's hard not to think his struggles there had lasting effects.
