Millions of players around the globe have sunk hours of their free time into the game. But what if you’re looking to play with a fresh approach, but don’t want to go through the rigmarole of building up a new character from scratch, then what are you to do?

Knowledge Transfers are the answer.

Here is everything you need to know about them.

Knowledge Transfers allow players to create an alternate Lost Ark account and character, and then get that character up to a desired level of experience in-game, without having to go through the entire process again.

Usually in games of this sort, starting with a new character would again mean having to put in hundreds of hours to get them to the level of experience you desire.

But with a Knowledge Transfer, you can easily transfer and share (with some caveats) your experience between your accounts and characters.

Why would you want to start an alternate account? Perhaps you want to experiment with a different play style, playing around with different loadouts that feel vastly different from your original character.

Maybe your first character was more suited to the stealthy approach, or ranged attacks. An alternate account would let you craft a character who’s more focused on combat and getting into the thick of things.

When you use a Knowledge Transfer, you can select any of your characters to benefit from it.

Doing this will make them unplayable for eight real-world hours, as they virtually “train” behind-the-scenes to get to where you want them.

So that means the result isn’t instantaneous, but it is certainly better than having to plough hundreds of hours into Lost Ark all over again.

Once the transfer is complete, your new character will have received all of the experience points from the main story quests on the continent you sent them to, and all base items from completing that questline.

Knowledge Transfers can be acquired with 600 of Lost Ark’s in-game currency, gold.

But it’s not quite as simple as splashing out on a Knowledge Transfer and assigning it to a desired character, though the conditions for being able to use one aren’t too taxing.

Players need to have completed the main quest of the continent you’re on with at least one character, and that character should be at the level cap.

You’ll also need to have unlocked the Island Stronghold, and completed the quest to gain access to the area’s training zone.

After you finish up these three steps, Knowledge Transfers should be available to use.

Lost Ark is arguably one of the most popular games right now, having already taken MMO lovers by a storm. Followingly, like most other MMO games, it can be a real pain in the ass to level up characters since it often takes an excruciatingly painful amount of time.

Fortunately, we have an easy solution that's worth using - Knowledge Transfers! This guide will explain everything you need to know about this handy in-game boosting mechanic and how to use it to level up your alternative accounts in Lost Ark. So, without further ado, let's get right into it.

Knowledge Transfer is an in-game mechanic that allows you to level up your alternate accounts autonomously through the main storyline without spending real-world currency. Instead, players can buy a Knowledge Transfer using in-game gold.

By purchasing the Knowledge Transfer, the character will be sent out for "training" for eight hours (in real-world time). While training, they will perform a run-through of previous quests by themselves, levelling up in the process.

Essentially, the Knowledge Transfer mechanic is an automatic levelling mechanic that requires no hassle or time on the person playing. Although it will cost you in-game Gold, it's definitely worth using!

How to do Knowledge Transfer in Lost Ark?

Notably, players must have (i) already completed the main storyline of the continent in which they want to use the Knowledge Transfer. They must also have (ii) manually levelled at least one character to Level 50. Lastly, players must have (iii) unlocked the Island Stronghold and access the Training Zone.

Note: The requirements for Knowledge Transfers will become progressively more costly the further you progress in the game.

For example, if you purchase a Knowledge Transfer for North Vern, you will need to have completed its questline and have your character Level 50. In addition, you will also need to have Item Level 10, plus 600 Gold.

However, if you want to purchase a Knowledge Transfer for Punika, you will need to have completed that questline and have an Item Level 1100, plus have 2400 Gold.

Players can use Knowledge Transfers immediately once the criteria mentioned above are met. Also, if you're wondering, yes, you can still use your character while they are "training"; however, you will only receive the levelling bonus from the Training Zone after the eight hours.

Furthermore, you can cancel the Knowledge Transfer at any time; however, you will only receive the experience bonus relative to the time spent in training. So, for example, you will receive half the total experience for half the time spent in training.

When the Knowledge Transfer begins, players must direct the chosen character to read a book in a separate tutorial area. Followingly, the character will receive all relevant experience points and base items after the chosen questlines on the continent have been completed.
