Intuitively explains the concepts in Math and Science
Not sleeping yet, Ok do some math.
Two angles are supplementary if the sum adds up to 180°. Let the first angle be A and the second be B
we also know that one of the angles is five times the other,
B = 5A plug this in the first equation to get
The measure of the larger angle is 5A =150°
Two angles are supplementary means two angles add up to 180o. So angle 1 + angle 2 = 180o
Since we don't know either angle, let's say angle 1 = x
If angle 2 is "five times the measure of the other angle (angle 1)", that means angle 2 = 5x
If we put these last 2 equations back to the first one, we get
x = 30o (measure of angle 1 = x)
Always go back and make sure you answered the questions that's being asked. The question is "what is the measure of the larger angle". angle 2 is the larger angle, so
So the measure of the larger angle is 150o
You can quickly check if these angle measurements makes sense: angle 1 + angle 2 should equal 180o, 30o + 150o = 180o.
