Well my 03 has been in the shop the last 6 months out of 8 months trying to get the same oil leak fixed. They keep it about a month at a time. This last time I thought they had it fixed then I pulled 10000#s 200 miles and there was oil from my bell housing to the rear axle. I told them this time if it was not fixed in 7-10 days I wanted them to stop where they are, box up all the parts and I will take it to my local diesel shop to fix it and send them the bill. This is getting rediculous. The service manager said he would take care of it. So we will see. I love the truck and just want it fixed, but it might take a lawer and a new motor to do this. I hope not. I have had it to every ford dealer in the area and it is the same thing everywhere around here. So do not feel to bad.

Feb 27th, The Ford Dealer Has Had My Truck For A Month, Called And Told Them Who I Was And They Asked What Vehicle Was Mine? I Said The Truck That You Have Had For A Month, And He Said Oh The White One, We Are Waiting For Waiting On A Gasket And When We Get It We Will Start To Put It Back Together. So I Said I Guess I Wont Get It This Week Either And They Said They Will Call Like It Is No Big Deal To Keep It For A Month... I Guess Time Will Tell

hate to say it,, but call the ford customer service line.. they will call the service manager and find out what the hold up it.. and sometimes you can get ford to make a monthly payment for you because you have been w/ out the truck you are paying for !!

You, my friend, have the patience of Job. I consider myself a calm and kind kind of person, very slow to anger. But I think in 5 weeks even I could get a good bit of angry. I hope that Ford makes this right and I do hope you are made happy in the end. Keep us posted

Well i emailed Ford and they siad they were sorry for the inconvieance of my truck being in the garage, but as i signed the contract I have to make my payment as scheduled. So apparently they dont car if your truck runs or not even though it is fords problem they still want their money. maybe i have been too patient so far, but the thought of them having my truck this long, next tuesday will be 6 weeks is really starting to get to me. I guarrantee they will not like me in the next day or two.they told me last saturday when i went to get something i needed out of the truck that they only have one mechanic to work on it right now and he has been working on other trucks also. Iguess they dont think mine is too important. ill let you know what happens in a day or two as i am getting mad as i am typing.

keep being persistant w/ the ford rep. they can and will give you something to please you. the dealership must only have one diesel tech and if that is the case they are booked out on diesel repairs for 2-3 weeks i bet. we have only 5 techs and 3 are diesel masters. we get the trucks in that day or defiently by the next day and go from there. no more than 1 week for that repair unless you needed a part that was unavailable.. if your truck was not already apart i would tell you to bring it to another dealer w/ mor ediesel techs.. keep trying they will do something-our rep does when these situations arise.. good luck and thanks for getting back.

Well i got truck back tonight, almost took 6 weeks, almost felt like driving it for the first time. dealer screwed me and charged me for oil change? they said they allready changed the oil before doing the bedplate and they saved the oil? yea right. i was also going to have the antifreeze changed while there, then they pulled the engine and had to drain it anyway, then charged me $29 for coolant check?then they said they rotated tires, which i dont think they touched them, it is a dually, not much to rotate there, the oil pan looks like it was drug down a gravel driveway and to top that off, my damn fog lites no longer work...... i guess i should have let it leak than let them ever touch the truck. the truck wasnt even washed and there wasnt even any apologies for taking so long!!!!even though my girl freind knows the ford rep and had him call them today, i think they were pissed off for that. will be going to see the dealer tommorrow!!!!! i would type in what i really feel, but probably would get kicked off here.

no way should they charge you for a coolant check- it is rated for 100-150,000 miles, although i would change it at 60K, oil change was part of the job and even if it were due foprd has a labor op code for changing the oil filter as part of an engine repair.. if you needed a change then i would be happy to pay just for that, did you ask for a TRT? if not how can you be responsible for it- you can rotate tires on a 6x6 but if you have aluminum rims you need to remount!!
as far as the oil pan being scraped-they must have dragged it on the floor-not very good mechanicall work habits. all of these things never take place at my dealership, we try to get the customer in and out for the least amount of money and sometimes warraty things that the cust should be responsible for.. good luck - i would try another dealer next time and exercise your issues w/ ford.

Well I Made 2 Phone Calls Testerday And One Of The Owners Is Aware Of The Problems Maybe? He Apparently Didnt Want To Talk To Me Because The Sailsman I Talked To Just Passed Messages To Him And He Said He Would Check On It Monday. I Also Lokked At My Brush Guard And It Was Not Installed Back On Truck Correctly And The Were Some Rubber Peices That Came With Brush Guard That Keep The Brush Guard From Rubbing On The Bumber And Also Keeps The Brush Guard Up Tighter Against The Bumber Are Gone And The Brush Guard Is Stick Way Out From The Bumper. If I Had The Rubber Peices I Would Correct The Brush Guard Myself As I Put It On , But I Cant Because I Need The Rubber Peices. Mainly I Am Mostly Still Just Pissed Off At The Service Manager, Not The Mechanic As I Can Only Emagine How Hard It Was For Him To Work On Truck If He Doesnt Have The Correct Equipment To Do The Job, Or Maybe He Did Need Help, Because I Can Only Emagine Looking At The Engine What It Takes To Pull The Engine And Put It Back Together And It Still Runs, But The Service Manager Said It Was Run And Ready To Go? Ill Let You Know What Happens Sometime This Week.

Got Truck Back After Almost 6 Weeks, Trucks Runs Great, No Oil Leak As Of Yet, Talked To The Mechanic, He Did A Good Job, Could Of Been Faster But They Wouldnt Let Him Work On It And Get It Done, Still Have Issues With The Service Manager Though. Hope It Is Fixed Even Though It Took Too Long. It Is Almost Like Having A New Truck Again After It Was Gone So Long.
